I’m always looking for fresh brainstorm activities, and this one was perfect to start a poetry unit.
Think- Write words that come to mind about the topic on post-its.
Sort- Work with partners to discuss how to arrange the notes.
Connect- Draw around the notes to illustrate the arrangement.
Every group does it differently, so by reviewing and posting them all together, they really set a great conceptual backdrop.
Great brainstorming activity to activate prior knowledge.
